蝶形骨（ちょうけいこつ、sphenoid bone）は、頭部の骨の一つである。 古くはSphenoid boneの直訳で楔状骨と呼ばれていたが、足根にも楔状骨が存在するため、蝶が羽を広げているような形に見えることからこの名がついた。楔状骨の名は現在では足根骨にのみ用いられている。

ヒトの成人の蝶形骨は1つの体と3対の突起（大翼、小翼、翼状突起）よりなる。

The sphenoid bone (/ˈsfiːnɔɪd/;^[1][2] from Greek sphenoeides, "wedgelike") is an unpaired cranial bone situated at the front middle of the skull in front of thetemporal bone and basilar part of the occipital bone. The sphenoid bone is one of the seven bones that articulate to form the orbit. Its shape somewhat resembles that of a butterfly or bat with its wings extended.
